Miss W is a single 29-year old woman patient
who has had the diagnosis of schizophrenia,
paranoid type. Patient’s illness got relapsed many
times. She had been raped several times when she
was in her psychotic state, and received dilatation
and curettage (D&C) four times in the past. Her
family requested that a hysterectomy be performed.
But when Miss W. returned to a normal
state, she expressed her desire to have children
and a family.
