Serendipitous Discovery of First Two Antidepressants

In this editorial, we would like to recount how serendipity played a rôle in discovering the antidepressant activity of iproniazid, first mono-amine-oxidate inhibitor (MAOI), and imipramine, prototype of tricyclic antidepressant (TCA).
