Cigarette Smoking Remains a Burning Issue in Risperidone Use for Patients with Psychosis
Weng-Kin Tam, Winston W. Shen
Tobacco smoking is well-known to be associated
with multidrug interactions secondary to
polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) and other
tar-like compounds [1]. In fact, it causes many
issues in dealing with smoking patients with psychosis.
Here we would like to demonstrate two
patients with risperidone use, both of them had
worsen psychotic symptoms. Then, we would like
in this editorial to discuss possible metabolic
pathways in psychotic patients.
